By midnight, when the bar shut at the RFDS hangar ball, it seemed none of the 350 guests had left.

IT’S A battle in these apathetic, entertainment-saturated times to pull a crowd. Not the hangar ball in aid of the flying doctor. The first one four years ago sold out, although it took a fortnight. Tickets to the second ball were snapped up within a week.
